Community Involvement

We are committed to serving our world to be a better place today and for the future.

The Salvation Army...

...is near to our hearts as they serve many varying needs locally and around the world.  Kelly serves on the Advisory Board for the The Salvation Army of Greater Baton Rouge.  She also serves on a commitee and volunteers for events, programs, and initiatives.  This organiztion supports the veterans, elderly, homeless, hungry, poverty-stricken, those battling addiction, children who are less fortunate and may not have access to safe, productive programs to develop outside of school, and any human or social services need.  There are school supply drives, the Angel Tree project for Christmas and holiday, Thanksgiving meals distributed, disaster relief services, utilities and rent support programs, including the Pathway of Hope which helps families learn to become more self sufficient and break the cycle of intergenerational poverty.  Did you know National Donut Day was started by The Salvation Army in 1938 to commemorate ladies from the Salvation Army who served hot donuts to American soldiers on the front lines in WWI?

Fighting Childhood Cancer...

...with Alex's Lemonade Stand.  We always enjoy taking a day out to set up our own stand which helps to support research for fighting childhood cancer because all revenue and all donations goes to Alex's Lemonade Stand.  Besides having fun as a team and with our supporting patrons, we help call awareness to this organization and the effective research that comes about in fighting childhood cancer.  Northwestern Mutual is a corporate supporter for Alex's Lemonade Stand, and we are honored to be part of the big team!
